With 25 years in the performance and entertainment industry, Dunedin-based triple threat Doug Kamo, has earned the reputation of 'Mr Entertainment' being one of the busiest producers, directors and entertainment practitioners in the country. He has amassed an impressive array of drama, television, concert, musical theatre and master of ceremony credits.
As a producer and director he has been responsible for over 60 national and international musical theatre productions including WICKED, Mamma Mia, Grease: The Arena Spectacular, Mary Poppins, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, The Rocky Horror Show, Les Miserables, The Producers, The Addams Family, The Buddy Holly Story, JC Superstar, Hot Shoe Shuffle, Cabaret, Chess, Me & My Girl, 42nd Street and A Chorus Line. He toured New Zealand & Asia in the international casts of Chicago & Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Television credits include regular guest appearances on Xena Warrior Princess, Street Legal, Shortland Street, The Pretender and Passion in Paradise. As a television host he fronted the high-profile weekly draw of Lotto for 2 ½ years as well as The Lounge, 3 seasons of Destination New Zealand, the award winning reality game show - The Vodafone V24 Challenge and the Living Channels travel show ‘Hit the Road’.
Radio credits include breakfast host for More FM in Queenstown and the most awarded regional breakfast show in New Zealand, Doug & P on The Hits Dunedin.
He is also founder and director of DKCM Ltd (Doug Kamo Creative Management), a market leader for corporate entertainment solutions, tours, concerts and theatrical experiences which designs live entertainment and event & production solutions for multiple corporate and ticketed events each year.
But his passion and love of communicating and engaging with a wide variety of people has seen him make a significant impact in the corporate meeting and conference market as a facilitator, host and master of ceremonies.
His fresh, inclusive and energetic approach is in high demand seeing him lend his skills to upwards of 40 conferences, meetings, award events and national fundraisers annually.
